Fair Trade Cotton Yarn

Introduction

Fairtrade is providing a fair price to the whole supply chain and ensuring that none of the persons/entities is exploited or underpaid. Fair Trade is a trading partnership, based on dialogue, transparency and respect that seek greater equity in international trade. It contributes to sustainable development by offering better trading conditions to, and securing the rights of disadvantaged producers and workers - in the developing and underdeveloped countries. Fair Trade organizations (backed by consumers) are

actively engaged in supporting producers in awareness raising and in campaigning for changes in the rules and practices of conventional international trade.

Contamination Free Yarns

White and light colors are very sensitive and any foreign particle/ fiber present in the cotton fiber prominently appears on the fabric. Hence, there are a lot of rejections at the fabric stage while making the garments. Specially, discerning customers like M&S and Next have very stringent norms and to use conventional cotton yarn can prove to be a disaster.

There are various reasons for contamination in cotton and we have done a lot of study on this subject.

In order to satisfy our quality conscious customers, we have not only improved our processes by using state-of-the art technology but have also focused a lot on sourcing of the right quality cotton. Apart from importing contamination free cotton from US, we have also worked a lot with farmer groups and ginners to reduce contamination levels. We have also engaged ourselves in training and development.

On the technical side, we have installed machines that remove contamination at two different stages - pre-spinning, and post spinning. Also, wearing caps is part of the uniform of workers.
